Des blogs d’élèves sont centralisés autour d’un site d’établissement ou d’un blog tenu par un ou des professeurs. Les élèves s’engagent préalablement avec les adultes responsables à respecter une charte.
Le réseau de blogs d’élèves peut être mis en relation avec un autre établissement en France ou à l’étranger impliqué dans un projet similaire : des blogs d’élèves alimentés et
contrôlés par des enseignants.
1. Est-ce facile techniquement de réaliser un blog ?
La réponse est oui, pour preuve ces articles créés ici en toute simplicité, il suffit de disposer d'une adresse mail, d'un mot de passe et de choisir une catégorie, (weblog par
exemple) pour créer son blog.
2. Des dérives du type insultes, photos illicites, sont-elles à craindre ?
L'élève s'engage avant conception du blog à signer une charte, son professeur prend connaissance de son login et de son mot de passe, pour retirer de la circulation un blog ou une
partie du blog qui poserait problème. De nombreuses publications (en liens en bas de page) traitent de ces questions et indiquent les dangers (mais aussi les nombreux avantages !) et les
moyens d'y remédier.
Le blog est un support d'expression qui responsabilise l'élève autour d'un projet personnel, le met en relation avec d'autres élèves, l'incite à réagir. Il peut naturellement
développer son sens artistique et ouvrir son horizon à des formes de création qu'il ignorait.
The goals of the AFA project.
Blogging is now widely spread throughout Europe : young pupils can create their own web log with a few clicks and a minimum of technical knowledge. A blog can be read by a
great number of people and the more visitors make comments on this blog, the more important it becomes. It is an extraordinary link between the people who already know each other or the ones
who meet on the web. The very notion of “participant” has been modified : the blogger doesn’t select a participant but readers with whom he is going to share his experience in English, German
and French in the AFA project. Our teenagers’ differences will provide better exchanges and will make teenagers go beyond conventional language : the shorthand acronyms used in the French
language SMS text messages for instance will be of no avail when they have to chat in English or in German. In order to avoid deviancy and unforeseen consequences, these web logs will be
created under the control of teachers and will only satisfy the AFA project’s needs. It doesn’t mean we will interfere in our teenagers’ business but they can deal with private matters on
other blogs. Thus, our main objectives focus on the meeting of young European pupils through blogging.
The AFA project in a few lines.
Here are some of the main advantages of blogging :
- hyperlinks can refer to teachers’ documents and resources in
the pupils’ blogs
- blogs are a written proof and a memo of what happened inside
and outside the classroom
- I hope it is a stimulating means of writing.
- it is an interactive means of working : one person or
several people can chat to one person or to a whole group at the same time.
The AFA project will start next September 2007 with the beginning of the school year : pupils from form 6ème (year 7), 5ème (year 8), and 4ème (year 9) will choose a web hosting
and will create their own blogs. “Overblog” seems to be an appropriate web site for our young pupils because it is quite well-made and there is no advertising. Teachers will be helpful to their
pupils in a tactful, constructive and deontological way . Teachers will have an assessment of the work and involvement of their pupils based on criteria close to the ones used at
school. Each pupil will introduce himself or herself, will talk about his or her interests as he or she wishes, comments will then be made by the blog’s visitors and first and foremost by
our pupils.
